What is a diary?

Let's start by defining what a diary is. It has many properties... It helps us and heals us. Yes, yes! And don't laugh!
A diary is nothing but a doctor-therapist who is always at hand and ready to "take" you at any time of day or night in order to patiently "listen" and "discuss" the events of the day.
It's a kind of mix between a friend and a psychotherapist - you can trust your secrets to it, or you can try to clarify and understand your own thoughts, analyze current events and decide which direction to move in.
It teaches us to plan, and we become more disciplined, allowing us to make more accurate analysis based on our records.
The place where your memories, thoughts, secrets, and photos are stored is called a diary.

Why keep a Diary - image

Why keep a diary?

Sitting comfortably in a soft chair with a laptop on our lap at the end of the day, we happily jot down everything that happened during the day: what was discussed at the meeting, who we had lunch with, the reaction to your new suit, a friend's secret, strange neighbors... Who knows what else happened during the day!

We must not forget to describe our mood, feelings, and thoughts... And that's important! Because it is based on our systematic records that we can track and find the cause of anxiety, lack of sleep, stress, and, as a result, health problems.

A diary can help us become more responsible for our health, as we can also use it to develop a habit of tracking our daily diet, which will lead us to a healthier lifestyle, иeing healthy is already happiness!

How to start keeping a diary?

There are no rules for keeping a diary, but if your goal is to track the dynamics and development of events in your life, and also to analyze them over time, then you should approach the question from a different angle. What does this mean? It's actually quite simple! To begin, you need to form a habit of making entries in your diary.

You should try your best to do this every day, as it is through this that we accumulate information that allows us to analyze and draw conclusions. Your brain will likely resist this idea at first. It might think, "What a silly idea!" This is normal, considering that you didn't have such a habit before. But give it time to process the new information and train it without wasting a minute. It's not easy, especially if you're a novice in this exciting journey. But there's a great way to do it! All you need to do is set an alarm or reminder in your calendar for a convenient time each day. Remember that this time should be when you're completely free (preferably at the end of the day), a time without haste and chaos. The place where you will make your entries should be quiet, peaceful, and comfortable for you.

Such an atmosphere will help your thoughts flow freely (perhaps even ahead of you), and you'll structure them later, don't worry. After all, it's so nice to be in a cozy place called "personal space" after a long day filled with worries, concerns, and responsibilities. For some, it's a workspace or a cozy lounge cafe. Maybe it's your attic, where you loved to play hide and seek as a child, or a spot next to a burning fireplace. Or perhaps your favorite place is wherever your cat curls up on your lap, purring with pleasure. In these moments, thoughts flow like a stream, drawing our future in our imagination. We often make ambitious and bold plans. Yes, this is my little world. Meet his Majesty, the Diary.
